Your vehicle data is stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple CloudKit. We never see or access your data — it belongs entirely to you, encrypted by Apple.
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. Go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → MotorScribe → Cancel. You can also manage subscriptions from the App Store → your profile icon → Subscriptions. MotorScribe never processes payments directly.
Delete the app to remove all local and iCloud data. To remove a published community build, unpublish it from the Vehicle Record screen before deleting — this removes it from the public feed and our servers. For account deletion requests, email support@motor-scribe.com.
Yes — through iCloud. As long as iCloud is enabled for MotorScribe in your iPhone Settings, your data syncs across all your Apple devices and survives app reinstalls. Go to Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud to confirm MotorScribe is toggled on.
Camera access is used to scan VINs, receipts, and service documents using AI-powered recognition. Photos are also used to attach vehicle images to your records. All image EXIF metadata (GPS, device info, timestamps) is stripped before any image is transmitted for AI processing.
Location is used on-device to provide weather alerts relevant to your vehicle care — for example, freeze warnings or storm alerts. Your location is processed entirely on your device via Apple WeatherKit. It is never stored or transmitted to our servers.
Every AI-extracted field is fully editable before saving. Review the results after scanning and tap any field to correct it. For best results, photograph invoices flat on a well-lit surface with all text in frame. AI parsing is a time-saver, not a final record — you're always in control.
